The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), a prominent small business advocacy group, has published its biennial voting record for New Mexico's 56th Legislature. This record assesses six significant votes on topics such as employer mandates and regulatory issues.

In the report, thirty-two legislators achieved a perfect score of 100%. This group includes 12 senators and 20 members of the House of Representatives.

"Each year, the Legislature considers proposals that would devastate family-owned small businesses here in New Mexico," stated NFIB State Director Jason Espinoza. "As inflation continues to pose a serious challenge to Main Street, our members are grateful to the lawmakers who stood firm against harmful proposals that would dramatically increase the cost of doing business here in our state."

It is important to note that the NFIB Voting Record does not account for every factor considered by legislators when voting, nor does it provide a comprehensive profile of any lawmaker. The 2024 Voting Record by NFIB included analysis based on 11 key votes relevant to small business owners.

For those interested in more detailed information, the complete voting record is available.
