Patrick M. Allen is stepping down from his role as Secretary of the New Mexico Department of Health, as announced by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham. Allen, who has been in the position for about two years, will leave at the end of the day.
"Pat has been a dedicated public servant, and I’m grateful for his contributions as secretary for the Department of Health. I wish him well in his next endeavor," said Governor Lujan Grisham.
Gina DeBlassie, currently serving as the governor’s health policy advisor, will take over as interim cabinet secretary. DeBlassie brings over three decades of experience in healthcare to her new role. She has played a significant part in legislative efforts to enhance healthcare access throughout New Mexico and has contributed to establishing the Health Care Authority and the Rural Health Care Delivery Fund.
Before joining Governor Lujan Grisham’s administration, DeBlassie was the chief operating officer for a national All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly provider program. In this capacity, she oversaw multi-state operations and led initiatives to improve services for seniors.
DeBlassie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and has been active on various non-profit boards.
