ROOSEVELT COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Youth urged to join effort against sexual violence

Violence1

Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Dec. 15.

Below is an opportunity for our young people to participate in work to PREVENT sexual violence!

This form is for youth aged 13-18 in New Mexico who want to join the #StartsWithUsNM social media campaign to promote consent, healthy relationships, and body rights. It Starts With Us (ISWU) is funded through the Department of Health Office of Injury Prevention and is a statewide coalition committed to ending sexual violence – in all its forms – against teens in New Mexico. ISWU is united in a statewide campaign to educate about consent and sexual violence to young people and adults who work with young people (teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, etc.). You can check out our website www.itstartswithusnm.org and our social media channels: @startswithusnm on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Also, search for our hashtag #startswithusnm.

We meet monthly with adults and youth to brainstorm and create social media messages to make a difference in our community. We value youth perspective and intelligence and want to compensate you for your participation and expertise. We have a limited number of $25 egift cards to give to the youth and young adults who participate.

Please sign up on this form if you are interested in joining the meeting. We will have 20 gift cards per meeting to give to youth. Youth who sign up using this form and then attend our meeting will get an egift card. You may attend just one meeting, and if you like it, you can sign up to attend the other meetings. If more than 20 youth attend a meeting, then the gift cards will go to the first 20 who registered here. Each person attending should register here. https://forms.gle/XW9wsxrzYyfzWt5R7 Please do not share the agenda and zoom link.
