Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has vetoed 16 bills from the 2025 legislative session. The vetoes include bills on topics such as the Earned Income Tax Credit, the powers and duties of the Board of Optometry, and federal SNAP state outreach plans.
Among the other rejected legislations are bills on the accessibility of state agencies, lobbying activity reports, a state trust program accountability plan, and wildfire suppression and preparedness funds. Also vetoed was a proposal for creating a Slot Canyon Riverlands State Park, health care authority visit verification, and a study on career and technical education.
Further, bills pertaining to tax exemptions for veterans, a grid modernization roadmap, and the publication of legal settlement terms were also rejected. Additionally, proposals for a state bread, a lowrider capital license plate, and a NM United license plate were vetoed.
