FOIA Request to Luna County NM Clerk & Election Division Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025.
In our continued efforts to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Enchantment State News have formally requested records under the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act, 14-2-1 NMSA 1978 et seq. Our request was specifically for a list of all candidates running in the upcoming election.
The details we asked for include the candidates' first, middle, and last names; the office they are running for; jurisdiction of the office; and party affiliation. We also requested all contact information for each candidate, including their address, phone number, and email address.
As a media organization committed to transparency and accountability in public institutions, access to these public records is crucial for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. In line with this mission, we have also applied for a fee waiver as a media professional.
We believe that by sharing this information with the public, we can contribute to a more informed electorate ahead of the upcoming elections. We look forward to providing further updates as soon as we receive the requested information from Luna County NM Clerk & Election Division.
