From December 1, 2022 post.
Give the ultimate gift by volunteering with GACC member Red Cross NM!
My name is Jay Schreibman and I am a volunteer with the American Red Cross. I recently moved to Camp Verde, AZ, from York, PA, and am now serving through the AZ-NM Region of the Red Cross. I have previously deployed 3 times for national disasters, after Hurricanes Katrina, Harvey, and Florence.
For my 4th deployment today, 11/26, I am flying from Phoenix to Fort Myers, FL, and will serve as an Intake Service Associate in response to Hurricane Ian. As a part of the Recovery Client Care Program for the Red Cross, I will spend 2 weeks working directly with disaster-affected clients and performing data entry to assist them with their recovery. In previous deployments, I assisted with Sheltering, Feeding, and Transportation, supporting both clients and Red Cross volunteers.
I look forward to providing care, comfort, and compassion to those who need it after the devastating impacts caused by Hurricane Ian. I appreciate all that the Red Cross does to help clients and communities prepare for and recover from disasters. I am so thankful for this opportunity to assist (and give back, as a former client myself). Please consider donating to the Red Cross, be it your time, your funds, your blood, or anything else, every little bit helps.
