The New Mexico State University Foundation is launching Giving Tuesday 2022, a special day when thousands of NMSU Aggie alumni and students from around the country come together to support the mission of NMSU. Held the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 29, this annual day of giving benefits all NMSU students by funding scholarships, supporting students in need and creating new opportunities in the classroom, in the lab and on the field.
Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a day for anyone, anywhere to give—and today it’s grown into the largest giving movement in the world. It is now an independent, nonprofit global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity.
“At NMSU, Giving Tuesday allows us to gather the critical support we need to make an impact on the communities we serve before the year is over,” said Derek Dictson, NMSU Foundation president. “This year, the NMSU Foundation will focus on 16 exemplary programs, and each donation will help Aggies achieve their dreams as they work to shape the future.”
Programs spotlighted in this year’s Giving Tuesday campaign include everything from replenishing the Aggie Cupboard to supporting the PRIDE of New Mexico Marching Band, the School of Nursing and Aggie Jumpstart, a program designed to prepare incoming freshmen for success.
