Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham's administration has forced the eviction of the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission, which as brought questions and concerns to the House Republican leadership.
Lujan Grisham's administration told the Public Regulation Commission in March of this year they would have to vacate their offices, according to a press release from New Mexico House GOP. After ordering the eviction, the administration didn't suggest alternative locations and the COVID-19 pandemic has made it hard to find a new location for the office. This has led the commission to work remotely while searching for a new office.
“We are writing to express our frustration with your administration’s unwillingness or inability to locate appropriate office space for the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission. The failure to provide this constitutionally established entity with a proper location to conduct its statutory responsibilities is, frankly, incomprehensible," House Republican leaders said to the governor in a letter, according to the press release.
