CITY OF RIO RANCHO: City Manager Provides Recommended FY 21 Budget to Mayor and City Council; Budget Hearing on May 8

City of Rio Rancho issued the following announcement on Apr. 15. 

Acting City Manager Peter Wells has provided the Recommended Fiscal Year 2021 (FY 21) Budget for municipal government operations and services and the Capital Program (FY 21-26) to the Mayor and City Council. The FY 21 budget spans from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021.

Per the City’s Charter, the Mayor of Rio Rancho has until April 25 to review the recommended budget and capital program and submit written comments to the city manager.  

The recommended budget and capital program can be viewed by visiting www.rrnm.gov/FY21Budget.  

The Recommended FY 21 budget and capital program will be reviewed by the Governing Body (Mayor and City Council) at a budget hearing on Friday, May 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The budget hearing will take place at Rio Rancho City Hall, 3200 Civic Center Circle. The budget hearing is open to the public; however, the public is discouraged from attending in-person due to health safety measures related to COVID-19.  This meeting will be streamed live and archived on the City’s website, and will be broadcast on the City’s Rio Vision government cable channel 56, which is available to Rio Rancho Sparklight subscribers.

The Governing Body will take public comment on the FY 21 budget and capital program during its regular monthly meetings on May 13 and May 27 at 6 p.m. at Rio Rancho City Hall. A vote to adopt a budget for FY 21 and capital program will take place at the Governing Body’s May 27 meeting.
