BERNALILLO COUNTY: Clerk Linda Stover Update on the Primary Election

Vote3

Bernalillo County issued the following announcement on Apr. 8.

Clerk Linda Stover recorded a video today to update voters on the upcoming primary election.

“The June 2, 2020 primary election is going to happen. We don’t know if it will be a traditional or mail-in ballot election, but we will vote on major party candidates for president, congress, state and county offices, judges and more,” said Clerk Linda Stover. “Remember, to vote in a NM primary you must be a registered Democrat, Republican or Libertarian and the deadline to select or change a party is May 5th. And most important of all, I urge voters to request an absentee ballot. If there’s ever been a time to get an absentee ballot and vote from home, it’s this time. By voting from home, you may be able to save a life. And that life might be yours.”

Voters can request an absentee ballot online directly from the Secretary of State’s website (click here). The request may also be made by sending email to clerk@bernco.gov or calling 505-243-VOTE (8683).

Ballots will be mailed to all voters who have requested them on May 5, 2020. The last day the Clerk’s Office can mail out absentee ballots is May 29, 2020. Absentee ballots must be received by mail or hand-delivered to the Clerk’s Office or a Voting Convenience Center by 7 p.m. on Election Day, June 2, 2020.

Contact your Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office at 505-243-VOTE (8683) or clerk@bernco.gov. Visit Bernco.gov/clerk and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
