Albuquerque officials have named the city's second round of outdoor dining grant award victors.
The grant program, provided by the CARES Act, uses funding to financially support restaurants, cafes and food trucks who are operating outdoors. The funds go toward public sidewalks, parklets and private parking lots.
Fifty-one restaurants won the second round of grants. The results were determined by a lottery system. The funds total $180,500. However, both phase one and two totaled over $280,000 in funds.
Albuquerque’s new outdoor dining grant program makes public safety safer when customers want to go out to eat.
The Economic Development Department has teamed up with multiple city departments to provide financial support to these chosen restaurants. Funding ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 per establishment who have a plausible plan to decrease interruptions in their businesses.
