A press conference run amok with political overtones left Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce steamed with the leadership of Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.

Pearce accused the governor with making a Public Health Order political during a press conference, according to a press release. Pearce said the governor was trying to benefit the Democratic Party’s candidates by outlawing campaigning following her comments regarding candidates going door-to-door despite allowing protests.

“Instead of addressing the real needs of New Mexicans, Gov. Lujan Grisham also blamed the Trump administration and attacked Washington politicians for having no plan,” Pearce said in a press release. “She provides no answers herself, no leadership for New Mexicans.”

Pearce pointed out the governor took aim at Republicans over the economy. Instead, Pearce accused the governor’s executive orders and decisions of not only damaging the economy but violating rights and attacking freedoms, according to the press release. He also attacked the governor’s decision on school despite children not having access to technology to compounding a class divide.

“This governor doesn’t get it — she’s CEO of New Mexico,” he said in the press release.
