The City of Santa Fe announced on April 22 that it will host a community volunteer event, Paint the Plaza, on Saturday, May 9. The event invites residents to join Mayor Michael Garcia in downtown Santa Fe to help maintain and improve the appearance of the Plaza and nearby streets.

The initiative aims to support ongoing efforts to care for public spaces in Santa Fe. By engaging local volunteers, city officials hope to enhance both curb appeal and community pride in one of the city’s central areas.

Participants are asked to assist with painting curbs and performing other maintenance tasks throughout the downtown area. All necessary supplies will be provided by the city. Volunteers are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor work and painting.

Paint the Plaza is scheduled from 8 a.m. until noon on May 9 at Santa Fe Plaza and surrounding downtown streets. Community members interested in volunteering can sign up online through an official link provided by city communications.

The City of Santa Fe said it welcomes all who wish to contribute their time and effort toward maintaining shared public spaces.
