The City of Santa Fe announced on April 30 that the Genoveva Chavez Community Center swimming pools will be closed on Saturday, May 2, to host the City of Santa Fe Elementary Swim Meet. Regular pool hours are scheduled to resume on Sunday, May 3.

The temporary closure is intended to accommodate the annual swim meet for local elementary students. The event aims to encourage youth participation in sports and promote healthy lifestyles within the community.

In a statement, city officials said, “We are proud to support opportunities that promote fitness, sportsmanship, and athletic achievement in our community.” The city also thanked residents for their understanding and continued support during this brief interruption of regular services.

Residents seeking more information about recreation programs or updates can visit the city’s website. The city also offers a range of newsletters with event announcements and other news for those interested in staying informed about local happenings.

As Santa Fe continues to host events that foster youth engagement and wellness, officials encourage families and community members to participate in or attend upcoming activities.
