The New Mexico Department of Health announced on May 20 that state public health and administrative offices will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. Offices are scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, May 26.

The closure affects all NMDOH offices across the state. The department said this is part of its annual recognition of the holiday.

Despite the closure, the NMDOH Helpline will remain available throughout the holiday weekend. The helpline can be reached at 1-833-SWNURSE (1-833-796-8773) and will operate during regular business hours: Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Monday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nurses staffing the helpline are able to assist callers in both English and Spanish with health questions, connections to care providers, and support for healthcare needs.

In addition to general health inquiries, the helpline offers assistance with updating vaccination records and scheduling vaccine appointments for adults and children.

A spokesperson said additional information about these changes can be obtained by contacting David Barre at (505) 699-9237.
