The City of Las Cruces announced on June 2 that Parking Lot 3 will be closed for crack seal treatment on Wednesday, June 3, and Thursday, June 4, with plans to reopen the lot on Friday, June 5. Parking Lot 3 is located at 301 N. Church Street at the intersection of Las Cruces Avenue and Church Street.

Public Works will oversee the closure while the maintenance is performed. The city said those who usually park in this lot are asked to seek alternate parking during this period.

Las Cruces officials also highlighted ongoing efforts to engage residents in shaping downtown’s future through participation in the Downtown Master Plan Update process. Additional upcoming events include a parade beginning at Apodaca Park and Primary Election Day scheduled for June 2, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Las Cruces City Hall.

The city has issued a Request for Proposals seeking a qualified master developer for redevelopment of approximately eighty-four acres of city-owned land in East Las Cruces. Regulations supporting safety and neighborhood quality of life through short-term rental ordinances became effective January 1, with enforcement beginning soon after.

Las Cruces delivers local governance, services, infrastructure management—including utilities and public works—and community programs under a council-manager structure led by City Manager Ikani Taumoepeau; these efforts serve residents within municipal boundaries in New Mexico, according to the official website.
