The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) District Four has awarded funding to 14 municipalities and local governments through the Transportation Project Fund (TPF). The total investment for these projects is $17,608,177, which represents a 95% state match toward eligible transportation improvements in northeastern New Mexico.

Statewide, NMDOT allocated $100,435,817 to 71 projects via the TPF program. The fund allows local and tribal governments to apply for grants that support planning, design, construction, right-of-way acquisition for transportation infrastructure, as well as environmental and other studies.

“These projects strengthen community connectivity by improving highways, streets, bridges, crossings, and facilities for vehicles, transit, bicycles, and pedestrians,” according to the department.

The investments will benefit various communities with specific allocations including: City of Las Vegas – Commerce Street ($1.48 million), City of Raton – City Wide Chip Seal ($564,520), City of Santa Rosa – 5th Street Improvements ($1.18 million), City of Tucumcari – 3rd Street Improvements ($1.53 million), Colfax County – CRA-9 Tinaja Crossing ($1.24 million), Guadalupe County – La Lloma Road ($1.17 million), Harding County – Bridge #8544 and Road Improvements ($475,000), San Miguel County – A14A Pork Chop Road ($779,151), Town of Clayton – Lowes Perimeter ($893,145), Town of Springer – Downtown 5th Street & Cimarron Avenue ($2.25 million), Union County – Davids Place Bridge ($475,000), Village of Cimarron – 9th Street Improvements ($2.38 million), Village of Logan – Micro Seal Various Streets ($289,175), Village of Maxwell – South 2nd Street Improvements ($950,000) and Kiowa Avenue Reconstruction ($551,000), Village of Pecos – Chip Seal Various Roads ($463,359), and Village of Roy – Street Improvements ($950,000).
