New Mexico State University was defeated by Jacksonville State on April 26, as the Aggies lost 10-0 at Rudy Abbott Field at Jim Case Stadium. The result gave Jax State the series win and left NM State with an overall record of 18-24 and a Conference USA record of 8-13.

The significance of this loss is reflected in both the scoreline and its impact on NM State’s season standings. Jax State took control early by scoring three runs in the first inning and continued to add runs throughout six different frames. NM State managed only four hits during the game, coming from Steve Solorzano, Chris Daniels, Camden Kaufman, and Dane Woodcook.

Jax State pitcher Steven Cash threw a complete game shutout against the Aggies. JT Price was charged with the loss for NM State, which used five pitchers during the contest in an effort to contain Jax State’s offense.

Among notable performances, Chris Daniels extended his hitting streak to ten games. He became just the third Aggie this season to achieve a hitting streak of ten or more games, which is also currently the longest active streak for any Aggie hitter. The shutout marked only the third time this season that NM State has failed to score in a game. It also represented their first instance since 2015 being shut out in back-to-back games.
