The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department announced on Apr. 20 that it will host a free Mother’s Day Concert featuring Karlos Saucedo and Grupo Éxito at 5 p.m. Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Plaza de Las Cruces.
The event aims to bring the community together for a celebration with live music and dancing in honor of mothers. Attendees are encouraged to bring their families, chairs, and enjoy food trucks available at the plaza.
Grupo Éxito was formed by Johnny Vasquez in 1992 in El Paso and has opened for well-known Tejano acts such as La Mafia, Rubén Ramos, Fandango USA, Elida y Avante, among others. Karlos Saucedo is a native of Las Cruces who has been nominated for Best New Male Artist at the Tejano Music Awards and is currently working on a new album. The two joined forces in January of 2025 and have performed together over the past year.
This free community concert marks the beginning of the city’s live music season. The Mayor’s Jazz Fest will follow on May 24 as part of the Parks & Recreation Department’s Music in the Park Series. Local and regional artists will perform every Sunday from Memorial Day weekend through August; details about performers and locations will be announced soon.
