Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico has enacted 60 new bills that tackle numerous areas including health care, public safety, economic development, elections, and education. This legislative activity encompasses a suite of measures aimed at addressing core priorities within the state.

Key aspects of the newly signed legislation include the enhancement of public safety through the implementation of the Turquoise Alert System and the extension of DNA collection to certain offenders. Economic growth is addressed via the Strategic Economic Development Site Readiness program.

Education sees a boost with the Community School Fund & Framework, Public Education Reform Fund Uses, and Broadband for Education. Healthcare access improvements will come from ensuring equipment coverage for diabetic foot ulcers and refining pharmacy reimbursement plans. The Wildfire Prepared Act focuses on environmental protection.

Other significant laws include provisions permitting non-major party voters to engage in primary elections and stipulations aimed at increasing transparency in healthcare transactions and improving emergency response capabilities for search and rescue operations.

A comprehensive list of bills was shared, comprising legislation such as Public Project Fund Appropriations, Early Childhood Ed & Care Fund Transfers, Caregiver Background Checks, and the Turquoise Alert System, among others.
