Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico has enacted 41 new laws, focusing on various state priority areas such as healthcare, economic growth, education, environmental measures, and public safety.

“These bills show our dedication to enhancing the welfare of all New Mexicans,” said Lujan Grisham.

Healthcare legislation includes HB 056 on Medicaid reimbursements for birth centers and SB 120, eliminating behavioral health cost sharing. Economic development laws like HB 019, the Trade Ports Development Act, are also part of the package.

Education and public service are boosted by HB 063, revising the public school funding formula, while HB 336 allows some retirees to return to work. Environmental efforts include HB 137’s Strategic Water Supply Act and SB 021’s Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Act.

In community support and governance, HB 010 targets cannabis regulation enforcement, and SB 267 addresses housing application fees. The new laws reflect a comprehensive effort to advance state interests.
