Today, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham expressed strong disapproval of the recent budget bill passed by the U.S. Senate. The Republican-led initiative, which supports President Trump’s budget proposal, has been criticized for its potential impact on social programs.

Governor Lujan Grisham stated, “With their vote to approve President Trump’s reckless budget proposal, Republicans in the U.S. Senate betrayed the American people.” She described the bill as a “disastrous, deficit-exploding gift to the ultra-wealthy” and highlighted concerns over cuts to health care and food programs relied upon by millions.

The Governor urged residents of New Mexico to reach out to Republican members of the U.S. House and advocate against passing this legislation: “I urge New Mexicans to call Republican members of the U.S. House immediately and demand that they vote against this awful bill.”
