Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham will attend the Fourth Annual Alaska Sustainable Energy Conference in Anchorage, representing New Mexico’s expanding role in energy and manufacturing. The governor emphasized New Mexico’s economic growth driven by leadership in advanced energy sectors.
“New Mexico’s thriving economy is powered by our leadership in advanced energy and manufacturing,” said Gov. Lujan Grisham. “We’re focused on expanding our economic growth through LNG exports, carbon management, hydrogen, and geothermal development. This conference is an opportunity to spotlight what we’ve built and explore new partnerships.”
Accompanying the governor will be Economic Secretary Rob Black, Environment Secretary James Kenney, and Deputy Chief of Operations Caroline Buerkle. During her visit, Gov. Lujan Grisham plans to meet with federal officials including Energy Secretary Chris Wright, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum to discuss potential federal collaborations.
New Mexico stands out for producing clean liquefied natural gas due to stringent methane emission standards. The state leads the nation in advanced energy investments like hydrogen projects, carbon capture and storage initiatives, and geothermal energy development.
Gov. Lujan Grisham will return on June 4th with Lt. Gov. Howie Morales acting as governor during her absence.
