Today, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico announced the appointment of two judges to the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court. These appointments follow the retirements of Honorable Linda S. Rogers and Honorable Frank A. Sedillo.

Andrea Gunderson, a graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Law, has been appointed as one of the new judges. Gunderson is currently serving as a special commissioner on the 2nd Judicial District Court, where she conducts hearings related to abuse and neglect, juvenile delinquency, and mental health commitments. She became a member of the New Mexico State Bar in 2006.

The second appointee is Ramon Maestas, who also hails from Albuquerque. Maestas serves as the Chief Clerk for the New Mexico Court of Appeals. He graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2015 and was admitted to both the New Mexico bar in 2015 and the New York bar in 2018.

Both Andrea Gunderson and Ramon Maestas will begin their judicial terms on March 15.
