A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Roosevelt County NM Clerk & Election Division on February 5, 2025. The request was made by Enchantment State News, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.

In our pursuit of transparency and accountability in public institutions, we sought detailed information about all candidates running for the upcoming election under the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act, 14-2-1 NMSA 1978 et seq.

The requested details include the candidates’ first, middle, and last names; the office they are running for; jurisdiction of the office; party affiliation; as well as their contact information such as address, phone number, and email address.

As a media organization committed to disseminating information to the public, we believe that access to these public records is crucial for fulfilling our professional responsibilities. We have therefore requested a fee waiver as a media professional.

We await a response from the Roosevelt County NM Clerk & Election Division regarding this matter. Our goal remains to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage that promotes transparency in local government affairs.
