FOIA Request Sent to Quay County NM Clerk & Election Division Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was submitted to the Quay County NM Clerk & Election Division on February 5, 2025. The request was made by us at Enchantment State News, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.

The FOIA request specifically asked for a list of all candidates running in the upcoming election. We requested detailed information about each candidate including their first, middle, and last names; the office they are running for; the jurisdiction of that office; and their party affiliation.

In addition to these details, we also sought contact information for each candidate. This includes their address, phone number, and email address.

As a media organization committed to transparency and accountability in public institutions, access to this information is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. We believe that this information will enable us to provide more comprehensive coverage of the upcoming elections.

We are awaiting a response from the Quay County NM Clerk & Election Division regarding our request.
