The City of Las Cruces announced on May 27 that its Communications Office and Visit Las Cruces team earned a total of eighteen awards in the 47th Annual Telly Awards, which recognizes excellence in video and television across all screens.

The city received two Gold, eight Silver, and eight Bronze Telly Awards. The awards are judged by leaders from video platforms, television, streaming networks, and production companies. Judges evaluate entries for distinction in creative work rather than against each other; multiple entries can receive top honors within a category based on combined scoring.

Technical Operations Manager Adrian Guzman, Media Production Specialist Nathaniel Bitting, Digital Content Specialist Cherish Pena, and Media Production Interns Celso Acosta and Eduardo Sandoval collaborated with various city departments to create content recognized across several categories. Visit Las Cruces Marketing Manager Lorena Lozano and her team were also acknowledged for their tourism-focused videos.

Gold winners included “The Fire Family | Las Cruces Fire Department” in the Social Video – Workplace Culture category and “Serve Your Community | Join LCPD” in the Social Video – Recruitment category. Silver awardees featured productions such as “Bus Art Stop Series,” “LCFD Physical Ability,” “City Jobs,” “Bridging the Badge,” “Neighborhood Leadership Academy,” as well as tourism-related content like “Crossroads Music Sessions Season 1,” “Road Trippers, Las Cruces is Calling – Visit Las Cruces, NM,” and “The Real New Mexico.” Bronze recipients included works like “Southwest Spirit” (in both Narrative & Scripted and Travel & Tourism categories), documentaries such as “Shared Soil,” government relations training videos like “Preparing for Gas Line Emergencies: Training Responders,” arts features including “Forged in Service” and “Crusaders of the Lost Art Scavenger Hunt,” among others.

This year’s competition saw more than 13,000 entries globally. A complete list of winners from the 47th Annual Telly Awards is available at www.tellyawards.com/winners.

Las Cruces delivers local governance through a council-manager structure under City Manager Ikani Taumoepeau. The municipality manages infrastructure services—including utilities—and provides community engagement programs for youth, seniors, recreation activities, regulation enforcement, and public works management within its boundaries, serving residents and businesses according to the official website.
