Central Consolidated School District will offer free summer meals to children ages 1–18 at eight locations across the Four Corners region, beginning June 1, according to a May 27 announcement.

The Summer Food Service Program is scheduled to run Monday through Thursday in two sessions: June 1–June 25 and July 6–July 23. Meals will be available at Judy Nelson Elementary, Kirtland High School, Ojo Amarillo Elementary, Shiprock High School, Eva B. Stokely Elementary, Newcomb Elementary, Newcomb High School, and Career Prep High School. Breakfast will be served from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m., and lunch from 11:00 a.m. to noon at each site during their respective dates of operation.

No registration or application is required for participation in the program. Menus include entrees as well as fresh fruit and vegetables, juice, and milk. For more information about the summer food service program, families are encouraged to contact the CCSD Food Service office by phone or visit the district’s website.

The district stated that it does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity. Information may be made available in languages other than English upon request. Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication should contact either the responsible state or local agency administering the program or USDA’s TARGET Center.

Central Consolidated School District operates as a public school district serving Shiprock and surrounding communities in New Mexico; it maintains multiple schools providing education from elementary through high school levels while facilitating family involvement and support services, according to the official website.
