An Arizona man, Kendrick Harvey, has been indicted on federal charges in connection with an assault involving three victims, including two minors. The indictment alleges that on September 16, 2024, Harvey, who is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, assaulted Jane Doe and caused her serious bodily injury. He is also accused of shoving a minor identified as John Doe and striking another minor, Jane Doe 2, with a closed fist. Both minors were reportedly placed in danger of serious harm.

Harvey faces charges of assault resulting in serious bodily injury and two counts related to abandonment and abuse of a child. He will remain in custody until sentencing is scheduled. If convicted, he could receive up to ten years in prison.

U.S. Attorney Ryan Ellison and Philip Russell, Acting Special Agent in Charge for the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Albuquerque Field Office, announced the indictment. The investigation was led by the Gallup Resident Agency of the FBI’s Albuquerque Field Office with help from the Navajo Nation Police Department and Navajo Department of Criminal Investigations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Amy Mondragon is prosecuting the case.

“An indictment is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.”
