APD Detectives Shoot Auto Theft Suspect

City of Albuquerque issued the following announcement on April 12.

ALBUQUERQUE – Officers tracked a stolen vehicle to the Motel 6 at Central Ave., near Tramway Blvd., N.E. late Tuesday, where a confrontation between detectives and an offender led to a shooting.
The offender was critically injured. He was later identified as Shannon Candelario, 46.
The Multi-Agency Task Force is investigating the shooting.
