The New Mexico State Aggies women’s track and field team concluded its season at the NCAA West First Round, hosted by the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, according to a May 30 announcement. Four athletes represented the Aggies following their fourth-place finish at the 2026 Conference USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

On Thursday, Alesha Lane and Kamryn Cadle competed in the shot put after placing first and third, respectively, at the conference championships. Lane recorded a mark of 14.04 meters while Cadle posted a throw of 13.70 meters.

Marlee Cavitt participated in two events on Thursday. In her first event, the 100-meter dash, Cavitt finished with a time of 11.61 seconds against a competitive field that included five national qualifiers. Later that day, she returned for the 200-meter dash and completed it in 23.96 seconds.

On Saturday, Lane took part in her second event of the weekend—the discus toss—where she achieved a best mark of 52.00 meters (170-7 inches), finishing nineteenth overall for the highest placement among Aggie competitors during the meet.

Nia Allison closed out competition for New Mexico State by running in her specialty event, the 3000-meter steeplechase, posting a time of 10:30.80.

The Aggies will return to action this fall as they open their cross country season at the Lori Fitzgerald Memorial Open in Las Cruces and aim to build on their runner-up result from last year’s Conference USA Cross Country Championships.
